Will the U.S. take a stake in Intel by September 30?

On August 18, 2025, Bloomberg reported that the Trump administration is in talks to acquire a 10% stake in Intel Corporation. This market will resolve to “Yes” if the United States federal government or Intel officially announce that the U.S. federal government has acquired, or is acquiring, equity securities of Intel Corporation, including through CHIPS-for-equity or secondary purchase, by September 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, it will resolve to “No.” Only acquisitions by the U.S. federal government acting directly or through a wholly owned vehicle qualify; acquisitions by states, pensions, index or mutual funds, or consortia do not. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the United States federal government and Intel Corporation; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
